Jin Chen's Memorial Service Was a Warm Light
The service was packed with people who's lives Jin Chen had touched. Some of the travelers ... from China, ... some from Washington, ... some from California, Mexico, India, and even his home town of Riverview, MI. Jin touched many people's lives and was a leader of good examples to all who surrounded him. Jin's family and friends mourned heavily for such a tragic loss.
It is very difficult for all of Jin's family and friends to understand how such a tragic accident could have happened to such an undeserving person. However, Jin's influence is potent and everlasting, surly leaving rippling effects throughout others' lives.

"Dear Son,
On 01-26-2009, you spent time to salute many family members for the Chinese New Year greetings and to friends who had birthdays. In the evening you had some bright new ideas to be thought out for your work. The idea was so bright you felt the need to work outside your apartment in the Sunday evening . You went to the highest beautiful company workplace, you were thinking while taking the elevators, and worked for hours at the high office Eurest Café. You needed a break to fresh up for continuing the brain storming, you went outside to the high beach and lied down by the edge of it, you were brave and relaxing, lying down on the high and refreshing, not aware the danger of the edge, a unpredicted midnight storm suddenly came and took you away.
You died at company’s workplace when having a break during work. You did great jobs during your short time at Microsoft, just last week you created a well done presentation, and you were always focusing on better and creative. You were a great person all the time during your 22 years of life, at home, in schools, at work, among people...
The accident was powerful to take away your life, but you are a so great person, all your lived are with us fresh forever. All are so bright, so positive. Today, we are to travel back home, we will plan to set a foundation in your name, and will collect our memories into a book in the future. We invite all who knew you to join us in these projects, and remember you in the way you wanted. Rest in peace, dear son, you always wished the beast to us and your family members, co-workers, and friends. We will remember you and carry on your soul for the rest of our lives."

Jin lived an extraordinary life. Coming from a small town in the Szechwan province of China at the age of 9 without knowing a word of English, Jin climbed a steep hill of accomplishments graduating top in his high school class (1.0 years early) as the Valedictorian. Jin went to the University of Michigan and blazed through the computer science and engineering school as a top programmer. Immediately after graduating from the University of Michigan, Jin Chen traveled to Seattle, Washington and accepted a position from Microsoft Corporation.
Jin gave back to the community and always cherished his glowing Chinese roots, routinely volunteering in the local Michigan community and helping on the farms of his family in Mainland China.
Jin's parent's, grandparents, and extended family, from Detroit to Shanghai, gave everything they had to Jin as he was their shining hope; a breathing example of the miracles possible in the golden land of opportunity, The United States of America. In only 13 short years, Jin went from a Chinese farm to a promising computer programmer at Microsoft's headquarters.
